A delicious red wine from the Rhone Village in Southern France, the Boutinot Les Coteaux Du Rhone is an easy drinking wine. Brambly fruit underpinned by subtle oaky nuances, lovely sweet spice; warm star anise with a touch of cinnamon. This classic Côtes du Rhône Villages is enriched with specially-selected parcels from the cru vineyards of Séguret, Sablet and Cairanne.
A delicious accompaniment to grilled meats, heart-warming casseroles or a classic shepherd’s pie.
Côtes du Rhône Villages enriched with barrels of ‘classified’ named Village wine from Cairanne, Sablet and Séguret. Mostly unoaked, a small proportion (15%) is part aged for 22 months in a few new but mostly older oak barrels to bring depth and subtle notes of complexity.
History of the Boutinot brand
With the establishment of their own production site in France (just outside of Beaujolais) in 1989, Boutinot rapidly grew production by expanding into South Africa in 1993. A decade later in 2003, Adria Vini was formed – a joint venture winemaking project owned by Boutinot and Araldica Vini Piemontes, one of Italy’s most dynamic co-operatives. Their passion for France and in particular the Rhône, led them to Carainne where we purchased vineyards, a winery and cellar in 2010 (christened Boutinot Rhône). Boutinot also have winemaking partnerships in Spain, plus developments in the New World including Chile and Australia.
