Snapper Rock
Shellfish and fish
Pungent red capsicum, white current and fresh herbs on the nose with hints of lime peel and pea pod. The palate is bursting with ripe juicy acidity matched with tropical fruit, finishing with a salty mineral edge.
History of Snapper Rock wines:
New Zealand is unique, and so are the Snapper Rock wines. The special combination of soil, climate and water, their innovative pioneering spirit and our commitment to quality all come together to deliver pure, intense and diverse wines. At Snapper Rock they source fruit from two of New Zealand’s most famous wine producing areas, Marlborough, at the top of the South Island and the Hawkes Bay, on the east coast of the North Island.
Hawkes Bay’s alluvial plains, high sunshine hours and long ripening season create the ideal terroir for full bodied reds and it’s become a magnet for wine tourism.
Marlborough’s rolling valleys carved by ancient riverbeds and bright, long summer days with cool nights are ideal for the production of crisp, zesty whites and suave cool climate reds. Sauvignon Blanc propelled Marlborough onto the international stage and has ensured rapid growth over the last twenty years. They’re one of a small bevy of boutique producers tending special blocks within the valleys, always looking to unleash Marlborough’s potential, and crafting wines of the land, pure, taut and focused.
